Sunflowers

Another reason I love the end of summer, beginning of fall is for all of the sunflowers that are everywhere! These were my grandpas favorite flower and so they definately remind me of him.

I drove to Escalante to visit my friend Nikki for one of my weekends. It is a pretty drive to the middle of nowhere that is for sure! This is in Bryce Canyon after you get off Hwy 89. On the way there I stopped in Cedar and hung out for a while, because Nikki and Rob wouldnt home til later that night. Then I just met up with them in Cedar and followed them to Escalante that night. It was good to be down there have a change of scenery for a few days. I went and played bunco with Nikki, Jenny and their friends while I was there and I won the losers prize, even after getting 5 buncos. Sad I know. But it was fun anyways.

No more texting while driving. . .

So my texting while driving has gone down significantly ever since this accident that I had to dispatch for. This happened 10 minutes after I sat down first thing in the morning. If this doesnt warn you to stop texting, being distracted while driving then I dont know what will. It was a triple fatal accident to those in the white car. Sad.

They had to cut the car apart, but look at the steering wheel! Crazy

Fall colors

Fall is by far my most favorite time of the year, the leaves changing the weather getting cooler, and sweater season!!! I love sweaters and being warm. Provo canyon was beautiful for a few weeks, still is just the colors are not as vibrant as they were at the beginning. I took more pics but once again, they are on the other camera so I will have to upload them another day.

Mirror Lake

I went for a drive a while back and took these pics and plenty more. It was pretty, but the drive back was a little scary because there were SO many deer and other creepy things on the side of the road. I am not a big fan of deer and elk, not only am I terrified of hitting one, I find them to be very creepy looking and suicidal. :)

On Sept 16 my sister, bro-in-law and nieces all got sealed in the SLC temple. So my family came up for that, the sis-in-laws werent able to make it but my bros did, and we had fun. My brothers stayed with me the night before then we drove to SLC in the morning for the sealing. Michael had to fly out right after the temple and Heath and the parents went back to SJ the next day. Vickie then stayed with me for a couple more days. I had to work so I hardly saw her and the girls, just at night when I got home. It was good to have them here, it always is. Here are a few pics that I took from that day.

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day I went to Arizona, we went camping and got wood and did corn. A lot of corn. I went on Friday, drove to AZ then when I got there, put all my stuff into a different car and drove the truck up the mountain. Heath and Selina were already up there, so they stayed for a while then went back to town. Dad, mom, Vickie me and the girls stayed and camped. Carolisa and I camped in my tent and dang it was cold! It rained and rained and rained. The thunder was another story cuz it did that too! But Carolisa did not wake up, well she did but then she would just go back to sleep. But she was pretty excited in the morning that she slept in the tent all night long. My parents and Vickie stayed in my Dads camper trailer that he got. In the morning we got a load of wood and then it started to rain and we headed back to SJ. Coletons Bday party was that day so we went and watched him eat his cake and open some presents. Monday my dad, Heath and I went to Taylor to pick some corn so we could freeze it. I think we got a little carried away cuz we packaged 183 bags of corn, 2 cups in each bag. I had carpo-tunnel for a week after! If I thought it was getting bad before the corn well I was wrong cuz its way worse now. All my pics from this trip are on my other camera that I dont have with me so I will have to add the pics later.

Tuesday

24th of July

Yes it has been a while like always, lots of work and driving. Driving is my new hobby I have decided, well not new but its turned into a hobby. I went to AZ for the 24th of July and had a blast with my family. We were all there this weekend, minus King he had to work. So we missed him. But me and my dad and brothers went to the canyon and built some on the bridge, got the I-Beams moved into place which was the big thing to do while we were all there. We had a picnic and the kids all came up one day and my sisters and mom. The kids had a great time walking across the beams. They are crazy! On Saturday we went to the parade, and the rodeo. My friends were in the rodeo and they did great for the most part. I saw some old friends from High School and that was good. Overall it was a great weekend and I loved being around my family. So here are a few pics from my awesome weekend with the fam.

These are only 2 of the beams we moved, there are 4 total

Wednesday

AZ and Zerins day

This last weekend, I went to AZ. . . again. I went down Weds, spent that night and Thursday with Vickie and King and the girls then went with Michael to his place in Cochise for Friday and Saturday. We worked on his house and got a lot done. Hanging sheet rock, fixing floors, taping the sheet rock, cleaning the yard. A lot of work but it was a lot of fun being with Michael and my mom and dad for a couple days. Then we went back to QueenCreek and blessed Zerin on Sunday and then I flew back to Utah. Here are a few pics of Zerins day.

Sunday

Hmm where do you begin when you have been everywhere in 3 weeks, and havent updated for 6 weeks? I drove to SJ to my parents the beginning of May, driving through Kanab to pick up Nikki first. Stayed there for a few days, drove back to Kanab stayed there for a day and a half. Went to the Ranch with Nikki and Rob and Marc all day and had a blast. I got so sunburned even with putting sunscreen on but it was well worth it and will do it again in a heart beat! Then I had training in St. George worked for 2 days back in PC and then on the road again. All the meanwhile turned the big 27. Then left again to go to AZ to see my sister and her family and my brother and his family. My sister had my neice on the 15th so I got to see her, which was awesome. Zerin Meliana weighed 8lbs and 20 inches. Here are a few pics of the baby but I dont have other pics yet from Kanab and from my camera. Nikki- I need those pics you took. lol. But now I am driving back to Utah in the morning and will be there for a few days at least :). All in all I have driven 3000 miles in 2 weeks, and I have loved every mile of it.

New baby blankets

Not really much going on except making more little quilts. I get bored on the weekends so I have started making them, its fun except I get stressed out about the material and when it doesnt sew right. So they are cute as long as you dont look too closely at the mistakes. :) Trust me, there are many, but at least you can tell that I didnt buy it! The pink one is for my sisters baby that is due in May and I cant tell you who the other one is for yet. . . lol. I will later. Anyways not a whole lot more to report. I am going to AZ next weekend for Easter, but we will be doing everything on Saturday probably cuz I will have to drive back on sunday, so all of you Jeep people in Moab. . . move over! :) And Ashley did my hair yesterday too so I will post pics of it later when I actually do it.
Okay this blanket below I gave to my cousins Doug and Stasha for their baby boy that is due this friday! I just couldnt put that on above cuz I wasnt sure I was going to see them tonight. :)

My first Quilt

So this weekend, I made a quilt. A small one but none the less a quilt. I cut it and sewed all the squares together one night then finished it the next day. It turned out pretty good for it being my first one. The second one is coming this next weekend. This one is going to Carolisa just for like watching tv or something.

And no I wasnt trying to match it. Its supposed to be all messy. :)

Friday

Last weekend

So last weekend I went to Vickies house for the weekend, turns out my mom was going down too to help Vickie paint the nursery. It turned out really cute, here are some pics of it. It was my job to play with Carolisa and so she wouldnt want to "help" so we hung out all day Saturday and had a great day. It was a good weekend, a warm weekend. And now its snowing. . . again.

Thursday

Baby horse

My dads horse had a baby this week

Quick weekend

Last weekend I made a quick trip to my parents house. Thanks mom and dad for the great weekend. I drove down thursday after work and came back on sunday. So it was fast and not really planned, I just decided that I needed to get away for a couple days. But we went up to the canyon on Friday and Saturday and worked on my dads barn. Here are a couple pics of the barn doors that we finished. And we made me a couple shelves for my apartment, I will put of picture of them on here to but be aware they are VERY rustic. :)

we put the wood on the door on the left

side view of the barn. all the wood is from my grandpas barn that we tore down and re used on this one

Saturday

Snow pictures

For all of you who live in Arizona and forgot what the snow looks like, here you go! I was bored the other day and went and took some pics of the winter scene. I went tubing last night and it was so much fun, we were soaked by the time we left though cuz it was snowing/raining.

Lost Caller

So at work the other morning it was quite funny. Here is how a conversation went with someone who ran off the road:

Caller: I just ran off the road
Me: Okay where are you?
Caller: I dont know
Me: Okay. .. Where were you going and where did you just leave?
Caller: I think I just left Park City and I think I am going to Heber.
Me: (trying not to laugh at this point) What do you see around you?
Caller: The Jordanelle Res. is by me.
Me: Okay what kind of vehicle are you in?
Caller: A Ford
Me: Passenger car or Truck?
Caller: I dont understand the question.
Me:( now getting annoyed just a little bit) Okay are you driving a car? or are you driving a truck?
Caller: Oh a truck.
Me: All right I will have an officer on the way.

In the meantime I get the officer on the computer because he is asking if there is a language barrier because the caller didnt know where they were. So I typed. BLONDE! lol.
Trooper: lol okay
Me:Caller didnt know where she was at or where she was going or what she was even driving let alone if she needed a wrecker or not.
Trooper: Okay I will find out.
Me: great
Trooper: ( a while later) She just left the Salt Lake Airport headed to Payson and somehow ended up between Park City and Heber!
Me: What??? :)

So ya we were definately laughing so hard at this point! So the Trooper had to tell the "lost" person how to get to Payson from where they were at. So funny. I really dont know how one would end up in Park City when they are going to Payson! And the funny part, she wasnt even blonde!

Sunday

YAY ARIZONA!!!

So ya . . . Arizona is the best!!! And we are going to the Super Bowl. So hopefully we will win the Super Bowl cuz that would be awesome!!!! So Good Luck Cardinals!!!!

Tuesday

So it has been snowing a lot here!! And not a whole lot else has been going on. I went to the Salt Lake Temple to get some pictures for Vickie and King. I developed a few of them for their new house. It was cold but definately worth it. I got some really good pictures. Vickie and Carolisa came up for her friends wedding and I had to work all weekend so I didnt get to see too much of them. I was definately sad to see them leave so soon. It was -25 the other day when I got to work and still -5 by the time I left. It is definately way too cold up here some days. So here are some pics of the temple and one of Carolisa at the wedding.
